Cecilia Malmström and Carl Bildt to Luxembourg for EU Council meeting
On Monday and Tuesday, 26 and 27 October, the General Affairs and External Relations Council (GAERC) will meet in Luxembourg. Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt and Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström will chair the Council meeting.
On the agenda for the EU affairs ministers are preparations ahead of the meeting of the European Council on 29–30 October and the adoption of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The foreign affairs ministers’ agenda includes the adoption of a strategy for strengthened EU involvement in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Iran and the Western Balkans.
