Press invitation to Presidency conference Visby Agenda: creating impact for an eUnion 2015 in Visby on 9–10 November
The media is invited to a press conference and an opportunity to interview participants at the high-level conference Visby Agenda: creating impact for an eUnion 2015, which is being arranged by the Swedish Presidency of the EU.
The conference is an important step in creating a common platform for a European IT policy agenda by 2015. Many leading representatives of European IT policy and the business sector will attend.

In connection with the meeting and time permitting, the media will be given the opportunity to interview the meeting’s speakers, including Minister for Communications Åsa Torstensson, EU Commissioner Viviane Reding, former UK Minister for Communications, Technology and Broadcasting, and responsible for the Digital Britain report, Lord Carter, and Internet profile Hans Rosling.
Also participating in the conference is outgoing President and CEO of Ericsson, and incoming Chairman of British Petroleum, Carl Henric Svanberg, Finland’s former Prime Minister Esko Aho, currently Executive Vice President of Nokia, and Google’s Director of European Public Policy and Government Relations Simon Hampton.
MEPs Catherine Trautmann and Pilar del Castillo, Finland’s Minister of Communications Suvi Lindén, the incoming Spanish Presidency’s Minister of State Telecommunications and Information Society Francisco Ros Perán, and Director-General of DG Infosoc Fabio Colasanti will also take part in the conference.
