Welcome to Göteborg
Göteborg is Sweden’s second largest city, with half a million inhabitants. A significant proportion of Swedish import and export passes through Göteborg, the largest port in Scandinavia. Göteborg is the host for three informal ministerial meetings: the meeting of education ministers on 23–24 September, the meeting of defence ministers on 28–29 September and the meeting of finance ministers (ECOFIN) on 1–2 October.

Göteborg – the exciting new gastronomic metropolis
We are indeed justified to speak about something we might call Göteborg’s gastronomic miracle. In the past decade, the city has gone from nowhere to being cited as one of Northern Europe’s most exciting culinary destinations, prominently publicised in the New York Times and many other leading international media. Of the star chefs who have been crowned Chef of the Year in Sweden over the past ten years, no less than seven have come from Göteborg. (visitsweden.com)
