Media accreditation
If, as a media representative, you want to attend Council meetings in Brussels and Luxembourg, or any of the informal ministerial meetings in Sweden, you must apply for accreditation.
For meetings in Brussels and Luxembourg, accreditation is obtained via the Council website. For informal ministerial meetings and other meetings in Sweden, accreditation is obtained via the Presidency accreditation system. You can find links to these on the right.
Meeting delegates register on a separate accreditation page. Guests receive a personal invitation from the ministry responsible for the meeting, with an internet link to the accreditation page. General questions about the subject matter of a meeting are dealt with by the relevant ministry. |
For media accreditation for meetings in Sweden, the following applies
- Fill in the requested information and confirm
- Your login details will then be sent to your email address
- These login details will give you access to the accreditation system, where you can apply to attend meetings throughout the Swedish Presidency
On the accreditation page, you must supply your:
- Personal data
- Press card number (or attach a certificate of service from your editor-in-chief)
- Photograph
When you have done this, all that remains is to apply to the meetings you are interested in.
After you have applied for accreditation, you can log in using your username and password and change your application when necessary, but not later than seven working days before the meeting. Confirmation that your accreditation has been approved will be sent to you by email in good time before the meeting.
Accreditation badge
When the information you have given has been verified, an accreditation badge will be prepared and will be available for collection at the accreditation centre located near the media centre. You will need to present identification when you collect your accreditation badge.
Please note that you must collect it personally. The accreditation badge must be worn visibly during the whole meeting and is proof that you have access to the media centre. Loss of the badge must be reported immediately to the staff at the accreditation centre.
