Press invitation “Promoting a Creative Generation – children and young people in the new culture and media landscape”

On 29–30 July, 350 delegates from across the European Union will meet in Göteborg for the culture and media conference “Promoting a Creative Generation – children and young people in the new culture and media landscape”. In the context of the Year of Creativity and Innovation, the delegates will discuss the creativity and cultural habits of children and young people. The aim of the conference is to promote the exchange of experience and provide knowledge on how public investments can help to ensure that children and young people’s right to culture in all forms is guaranteed.

The conference will be opened jointly by Swedish Minister for Culture Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth and the European Commission Director-General for Education, Training, Culture and Youth Odile Quintin.

The keynote speakers will be Renad Qubbaj and Professor Anne Bamford. Renad Qubbaj is the General Director of the Tamer Institute for Community Education in Ramallah, and earlier this year received the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Professor Bamford is recognised for her research in arts education, media literacy and visual communication and is Director of the Engine Room at the University of the Arts London.
