The Presidency of the European Union condemns the bomb attack in Kabul earlier today which indiscriminately killed and injured a large number of innocent civilians.

The Presidency is appalled by this atrocious form of terrorism, taking place in the close vicinity of a diplomatic mission which enjoys protection under international law.

The Presidency offers its most sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and its sympathies and wishes for a full recovery to those injured - two of whom served with the European Union’s Police Mission in Afghanistan (EUPOL).
