Press invitation to conference on higher education, research and innovation

From 31 August to 2 September, around 300 delegates from across the EU will gather in Göteborg to discuss how the EU can strengthen the ‘knowledge triangle’. The knowledge triangle is one way of describing how education, research and innovation interact to achieve the best possible results.

Minister for Higher Education and Research Tobias Krantz will open the conference on 31 August at 18.00, together with European Commissioner for Education Jan Figel. Other speakers at the conference include European Commissioner for Science and Research Janez Potočnik, Chairman of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Martin Schuurmans, and Deborah Wince-Smith, President of the Council on Competitiveness, a US think-tank.
