Items on the agenda include a discussion on the continuation of the EU’s Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs after 2010, preparations for the EU summit on 10–11 December, Russia, Ukraine, Bosnia, the Middle East, and the EU’s military operation Althea.
Other issues the ministers will discuss are the EU’s marine operation, Atalanta, off the coast of Somalia, Afghanistan, with a focus on democracy support, and the link between climate change and development. Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt, Minister for Defence Sten Tolgfors, Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson and Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström chair the respective parts of the meeting.
